In August, 2010 on Sigulda Medieval Castle stage will take place 18th Opera Music Festival, a two-day program with an outstanding and world-renowned artist performance inviting viewers to participate from Latvia and foreign countries.
August 7, 5 p.m. Gala Concert will be held with the participation of Latvian tenors and soprano, and The Latvian National Opera Orchestra. Soloists: soprano Kristīne Opolais (Latvia), tenor Philip Do (France), tenor Juhan Tralla (Estonia), soprano Diāna Rudāne, bass Krišjānis Norvelis, baritone Daiņus Stumbrs (Lithuania).
August 8, 3 p.m. Concert "From Drama to Romance" with the participation of Latvian significant soloists – actors. Soloists: Dita Lūriņa, Juris Vizbulis, Mārcis Maņjakovs, Ilze Kozlovska, Mārtiņš Egliena and Liepaja Symphony Orchestra.
Event closing with Giacomo Puccini opera of three acts “Madame Butterfly” will take place on Sigulda Medieval Castle stage.
This opera will be a unique opportunity to see and hear the brilliant Russian director Yuri Aleksandrov - six times the Golden Mask winner, staged opera, which is designed as an international project involving Russia Mariinskij Theater, St. Petersburg Opera and the Latvian National Opera. Starring - tenor Ahmed Agado (Mariinskij Theater), an international contest winner, Jeanne Afanasyev (St. Petersburg Opera) and the Great Russian baritone Sergei Kaļinovs (St. Petersburg Opera), and the Latvian National Opera soloist Krišjānis Norvelis and opera chorus. Tickets for VXIII International Opera Music Festival in Sigulda will vary from 25 to 35 LVL. Standing ticket will cost 5 LVL.
During whole day, local craftsman market will be open in the Sigulda New Castle garden. Small musical cafes will be open too.
In those days Metal art craft symposium “Medieval Iron cutter” will take place in Sigulda. Artists will make urban environment objects.
